Something’s amiss. The solar system’s mass is not quite accounted for and there have been so far inexplicable gravitational patterns among trans-Neptunian objects. Something’s pulling strings. But what? Speculations have been going on for decades, even before Pluto’s demotion. In January 2016, researchers Konstantin Batygin and Michael E. Brown at Caltech proposed the mathematical basis for a planet 10 times more massive than earth, probably a mixture of rock and ice with a small envelope of gas, and a highly elliptical orbit with an orbital period of approximately 15,000 years. As Planet Nine is not confirmed, it doesn’t have an official name, but Brown has stated: "We actually call it 'Phattie' among ourselves.”
