Every single time our species ventures into the cold, dark depths of space we are constantly asking ourselves this one question: "Are we the only intelligent life on this planet, or this universe?" Are we really? Even now there is constant debate on this subject. To be honest, none of us know for sure, but there is certainly a chance that we are not. Each and every trip is getting us one step closer to making that grand meeting with another species, exchanging knowledge and challenging one another's intellects, sharing technology and life secrets in order to better the existence and survival of one another species so that we may all flourish in grandeur and beauty for as long as possible. Or it could all topple right in front of us and end up as nothing more than our race being played with by another for pure entertainment, thus insuring our people to move on in a constant loop of life never to discover the true meaning of life or ascertaining further knowledge of the universe. But that just doesn't seem probable...right? Christmas Traditions - 2 of 4 created by *greyfin, gives us a possible look of one of our ambassadors on such a botched mission and stands as a monument for others not to make the same mistake and meet a similar end.

From the first thing I see, I must say for the minimal use of other colors, there is a lot of life moving amongst the various subjects. The background, while limited on details, still manages to simulate quite a bit of depth within itself and gives a pretty good scaling description of where this event occurred. Simple detailing on the primary subjects has gone quite a long way and gives a more realistic and almost dream-like quality to the setting. The astronaut, as it stands frozen on the intergalactic tundra of a far off world, carries a rather strange humorousness about the way they were frozen, as if it were at the very moment they realized they were doomed and had just remembered they should be running back to the ship before they freeze to death...the result of the failure stands. The other creatures, investigating the strange monument curiously with interested expressions on their partially confused faces.

As with many pieces drawn in this fashion, I would have to suggest a increase in minor detailing as well as better refinement of background and foreground elements. While the three subjects look quite good, the background and foreground elements could use a bit of refinement as varying details in the design just seem to be all over the place and could use a little more management. Overall, just a bit of detailing and snow pattern refinement is what could make this piece shine just a little bit brighter.

For ever expedition, for every journey and discovery, we always look forward to what exactly the future could hold for each and every single one of us. How far would the next trip lead us from our homes? Where in the galaxy, or even the universe, would the location be? Perhaps we may never truly know, but one thing is for sure: this piece still gives a pretty good idea of what could be out there waiting for us. Good work. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>
