william hartnell alias doctor who (1st incarnation)
ca. 6hours. 4b, hb, 2h and that free ikea pencil. HELP! i'm very uncertain about this one. having seen only a few of his episodes in crappy net qualitly so far i don't think i got the likeness right. there are so few decent pictures of him online. what do the experts say? p.s.: i know suck at drawing hands... edit: i worked out the main likeness problem due to a very nice person on whoforum.com. head too broad. some adjustment in photoshop and i'm actually beginning to like this one. also reworked the hand a bit. other doctors: [link] - patrick troughton [link] - john pertwee [link] - christopher eccleston [link] - david tennant copyright mr hartnell belongs to heaven, doctor who to the BBC and this drawing to me. respect copyrights, please. |

Do you wanna come with me?
It won't be quiet, it won't be safe, and it won't be calm. But I'll tell you what it will be: the trip of a lifetime.
and yes, i need some practice with drawing hands (and feet) - very badly. i *know* where sinews, muscles and bones are, which volume causes which shadow and i STILL don't get it right. it's frustrating.

Oh, and I've found this site through link hopping: [link] It might be of some use for reference pictures of the classic and new Doctors...

i already know that link - it's were i got his reference from
most of the shots do have a rather small resolution, though. ok for many photo-manips, but if you need it for a traditional portrait...
